ZTE extends its support of DSLHome standards for telco-grade managed Digital Home Solutions

ZTE USA, Inc. a subsidiary of ZTE Corporation, a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, has successfully demonstrated the interoperability of its Digital Home Gateway software platform with Motive device management software, Motive Home Device Manager (HDM). The interoperability tests were conducted as part of the MotiveSmart? Verification Program, which evaluates customer premise equipment (CPE) for compliance with the DSL Forum CPE WAN Management protocol, known as TR-069.

ZTE successful completion of these tests demonstrates ZTE commitment and ability to meet service providers? growing demands to better manage next generation Digital Home CPE devices.

"Demonstrating ZTE interoperability with Motive HDM and the TR-069 specifications offers service providers reassurance that ZTE is committed to providing state-of-the-art solutions that address both their revenue and cost control needs," said Dr. George Sun, CEO of ZTE USA Inc.

The DSL Forum TR-069 framework addresses service providers? needs to not only standardize protocol definition, but also to regulate key management information components for managing next generation broadband CPE devices and services. The  TR-069 specification allows carriers to build and deploy their next generation broadband network with the assurance of interoperability and ease of management.

The MotiveSmart? Verification Program is an initiative to ensure that Motive and its partners adhere to the expanding interoperability requirements of service providers seeking to reduce the time to market for next-generation services without increasing the costs to support and upgrade them. Interoperability with Motive software enables service providers using Motive HDM to automatically configure, and remotely activate and maintain ZTE-branded CPEs, greatly simplifying the delivery of triple play - voice, video, and data - services.  ZTE compliance with these protocols will allow carriers to quickly respond to their customers? needs and reduce or eliminate the need for expensive ruck rolls?, helping to minimize the carriers? operating expenses. Customers? user experiences will also be positively affected by smoother and quicker service activation and response.

"We are pleased to add ZTE to the list of the MotiveSmart Verification Program members," said R.J. Brideau, Motive vice president of business and channel development.  "Working with the world largest broadband providers has helped Motive understand the key role that management technology plays in accelerating the rollout of new services in this dynamic market.  ZTE interoperability with Motive HDM ensures service providers who choose to deploy ZTE Digital Home Gateways will have technology in subscribers? homes that enable the seamless roll out of new triple play services."
