China Mobile and ZTE take the lead in launching a 50G PON-based FMC residential community in China
- The residential community supports ultra-fast symmetric 50-gigabit services
- The launch of this residential community signals the acceleration of 50G PON technology in commercial use

Nanjing, China, 27 June 2025 - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a global leading provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, today announced that it has taken the lead in launching a 50G PON-based 1 Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) residential community in Jiangsu, China, in collaboration with China Mobile.
By leveraging the cutting-edge three-generation five-mode (GPON, symmetric and asymmetric 10G PON, symmetric and asymmetric 50G PON) 50G PON Combo, the community supports symmetric 50-gigabit services on internal and external networks, and applications such as cloud gaming, NAS, naked-eye 3D, and smart home. This initiative propels home broadband into the 10-gigabit era, marking China Mobile Jiangsu's pioneering entry into the 50-gigabit FMC landscape, and signaling the acceleration of 50G PON technology into commercialization.
50-gigabit home network applications: In the construction of this community, China Mobile Jiangsu was the first to complete 50-gigabit coverage, enabling on-demand access of terminals. The residential community utilizes the industry's latest three-generation five-mode 50G PON Combo and 50G PON Fiber to the Room (FTTR) for network upgrades, achieving 50-gigabit breakthroughs in existing home networks, and providing users with unprecedented bandwidth and an unparalleled home internet experience.
Symmetric 50-gigabit speeds on internal and external networks: With the support of 50G PON- networks, users in the community can enjoy symmetric 50 Gbps services on both their internal home networks and external networks. Coupled with edge cloud computing, the residential community provides cloud storage with up to 50 Gbps ultra-high access speed, allowing users to edit massive files on local computers while seamlessly uploading or downloading them from the cloud. This offers a near-local experience and enables centralized data backup solutions for multi-room households—safer and more convenient than traditional methods. The deployment showcases the powerful bandwidth capabilities of 50G PON access.
Ultra-fast cloud gaming: Powered by the ultra-high bandwidth and low latency of 50G PON, China Mobile Jiangsu's 50-gigabit networks deliver the breathtaking visuals of Black Myth: Wukong from edge cloud to players' devices for a truly immersive remote gaming experience. From finely detailed character models to vast scene rendering and fluid combat animations, the game can be presented in cinematic quality. In the meantime, ultra-low latency ensures instant response to player input, making the remote gaming experience nearly indistinguishable from playing locally—eliminating lags and delays. 50G PON technology is poised to drive the next level of evolution in cloud gaming services.
5G FMC services: The 50-gigabit residential community utilizes 50G PON for convergent transport of both 5G small cells and 50-gigabit broadband, offering a new solution for hotspot coverage and blind-spot elimination. Users can enjoy high-speed 5G networks outdoors and 50-gigabit broadband at home, experiencing seamless, high-speed connectivity everywhere in the community. This marks a tangible step toward a convenient digital lifestyle powered by 50G PON networks.
The launch of this residential community fully illustrates the boundless potential of 50G PON technology in home broadband networks. Moving forward, China Mobile will continue to collaborate with ZTE to deepen its applications focus on 50G PON, serve various industries, and jointly build new intelligent digital cities.
