Barcelona, Spain, March 27, 2026 – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a globally leading provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, officially signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) with Telkomsel, Indonesia's leading digital telecommunication service provider, at MWC Barcelona 2026. This collaboration reinforces both companies shared commitment to developing adaptive, intelligent networks with a strong focus on customer experience and Indonesia's digital transformation.

Three Strategic Pillars Driving Digital Acceleration

Both companies agreed to explore AI-powered network technologies and enterprise innovations that can deliver more reliable, inclusive, and high-value digital experiences for customers and industries across Indonesia.

1. AI-native RAN and More Differentiated Mobile Services

Telkomsel and ZTE will evaluate AI-native Radio Access Network (RAN) capabilities to enable more adaptive, customer-oriented 5G services. A Proof-of-Concept for the AIREngine module on the BBU V9200 platform will be conducted, allowing experience-based network management that supports consistent service quality enhancements.

2. Edge User Plane Expansion to Strengthen Rural Broadband

To advance digital inclusion, both companies will expand the implementation of Edge User Plane (UPF), bringing data processing closer to users. This approach reduces latency, improves efficiency, and enhances service stability, especially in remote areas, enabling more equitable broadband access throughout Indonesia.

3. Joint Innovation for AI-driven Enterprise Solutions

The collaboration also includes joint innovation programs with enterprise customers through targeted trials to identify AI use cases that are relevant, measurable, and applicable to diverse industry needs.

Wong Soon Nam, Chief Strategy & Planning Officer at Telkomsel, stated: "Telkomsel continues to strengthen its role as Indonesia's leading digital telecommunication provider with a strong customer-first focus. Through this collaboration, we aim to integrate AI-powered intelligent network capabilities to enhance service reliability, broaden inclusive broadband access, and unlock new opportunities for customers and industries across Indonesia."

Richard Liang, President Director of ZTE Indonesia, said: "Indonesia's digital transformation continues to build positive momentum, supported by increasing adoption of digital technologies across industries and communities. Together with Telkomsel, we are committed to developing intelligent and adaptive network capabilities that address the evolving needs of users and industries."

Richard added that improved network efficiency and a stronger emphasis on service experience are expected to drive sustainable digital growth, expand cross-sector technology adoption, and support the development of a resilient and inclusive digital ecosystem.
