8 July 2020, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today has been rewarded the Platinum Winner of Edge Computing Solution by virtue of its full-scenario Common Edge solution of central communication. Presented by Juniper Research, this award is one of Future Digital Awards for 2020, in recognition of organizations that have made outstanding contributions to their industry and are positioned to make a significant impact in the future.

ZTE's full-scenario Common Edge solution has revolutionized the traditional closed telecoms network architecture, integrating mobile access network and the Internet deeply, so as to accelerate service innovation. The solution is composed of RAN accessing MEC, fixed network accessing MEC, integrated MEC, and cloudified MEC.

RAN accessing MEC provides computing, storage and network resources on the NR BBU, thereby constructing NR-level MEC in just one hop.

Meanwhile, fixed network accessing MEC constructs the MEC platform based on the in-built OLT blade, without the requirement for extra space, thereby addressing the problems of insufficient space, power supply and AC cooling for the comprehensive access equipment room.

Moreover, integrated MEC completes software and hardware pre-integration in the factory for out-of-the-box and unmanned O&M, hence the advantages of flexible location selection, rapid deployment, and simple O&M.

In addition, cloudified MEC leverages cloud resource pool to deploy MEC, so that the edge capability exposure platform can evolve to ICT PaaS. The edge cloud with dual-core engine is capable of providing MEC services with diversified resources.

ZTE's full-scenario Common Edge solution makes edge computing ubiquitous, helping operators transform from network access pipelines to diversified value-added service providers.

In partnership with major global operators, ZTE has been committed to the cooperation with over 300 industry customers in various fields including industrial control, the Internet of Vehicles, smart finance, smart agriculture, smart grid, smart sports and entertainment, smart security and smart health care, in a bid to build a win-win MEC ecosystem and accelerate digital transformation of thousands of industries.
