2G/3G/4G/5G Convergent Common Core Solution

  • 2G has continued for nearly 20 years while 4G has only developed for several years. It is expected that 4G and 5G will coexist for a long period of time in the future. For operators, it is necessary to protect existing investments and build the best 5G network with the least investment. Coordinated development of 4G/5G is very important, and smooth evolution from 4G to 5G is more important.
Therefore, ZTE is the first in the world to launch a 2G/3G/4G/5G/Fixed full access Common Core solution based on the 3GPP R15 service standard protocol to achieve multiple kinds of access convergence to help operators smoothly evolve to 5G, make deep integration of vertical industries, and meet the one-stop network construction needs in various access scenarios. It has the following features:
  • Applying 5G features to existing networks: ZTE provides a unified architecture and a unified underlying platform for all access modes of the entire network. New technologies such as CUPS, cloud native, microservice, and containerization can be applied to existing network architectures to build a newly converged core network with consistent user experience, consistent business features, and consistent O&M.

Rapid deployment and upgrade enabled by microservice architecture: ZTE further expands and subdivides the service-level businesses on the SBA of 3GPP R15, and dismantles them into finer-grained microservices. Each microservice/service can be deployed, upgraded, migrated, and regenerated independently, helping operators quickly deploy networks and new services.

Constituting a fully open 5G/NFV ecosystem: Based on the 5GC network above NFV, ZTE continuously adheres to the concept of openness and cooperation, integrates the capability open layer in the converged core network, and cooperates with global operators and industry partners to develop research, testing and commercial use of 5G.

Integrating AI engine and big data to build a intelligent network: ZTE 5G Common Core builds the most intelligent 5G network with the help of AI algorithms and supported NWDA (Network Data Analytics) functions. It provides a system-wide intelligent solution including intelligent management, intelligent optimization and intelligent O&M.
