    Over the recent years, big video services including 8K and VR/AR are widely used; 5G wireless networks have been growing vigorously; enterprise private line networks are becoming broadband-based, popularized and diversified, and DC construction is accelerating. The development of new services poses bigger challenges to the existing transport network and boosts network revolution. Transport networks are required to provide mass bandwidth, ultra-low latency, multi-service transport capability and high security and reliability. Besides, they should support SDN technology to meet future network development requirements. Devices with low power consumption and simplified OAM can substantially cut OPEX, which draw much attention from operators.

    Future-Oriented ZTE E-OTN Solution

    “End-to-end deployment”, “Elastic network” and “Enhanced OTN” are not only the essence of ZTE “E-OTN” solution but also basic features and the development trend.

    • ● End-to-end: E-OTN equipment is used to implement end-to-end service provisioning, end-to-end unified planning and management, multi-layer protection and clock synchronization
    • ● Elastic: E-OTN equipment supports unified cross-connection of ODUk/PKT/VC and adds elastic processing on rigid pipes to implement multi-service unified transport. Besides, SDN technology makes E-OTN network architecture more elastic and network deployment more flexible

    Long-haul backbone layer E-OTN solution

    Transport capability is the core competence at the long-haul backbone layer. Beyond-100G OTN is an inevitable choice to support new service development. The ZXONE 9700 product employs a number of innovative technologies to significantly improve the transport capability of beyond-100G OTN.

    Core & aggregation layer E-OTN solution

    The core and aggregation layer has huge bandwidth demand and the network is mainly MESH or multi-ring network. The ZXONE 9700 supports large-capacity optical/electrical hybrid cross-connection and can provide sufficient bandwidth resource and flexible service scheduling.

    Edge access layer E-OTN solution

    The access layer features rapidly growing bandwidth and diversified service types. The equipment deployment is limited by space and power consumption. The ZXMP M721 has small size, large capacity and low power consumption, and is easy to deploy, so it is the best choice for the access layer.

    Focusing on Network Requirements and Customer Benefits

    Industry-leading beyond-100G technology improves system capacity and simplifies network deployment

    The beyond-100G technology can increase the transmission capacity of a single fiber by several times, slow down channel resource consumption, lengthen equipment online time, protection customer investment, reduce unit power consumption and cut OPEX. 
    ZTE beyond-100G has the best transport capability in the industry. It supports smooth upgrade from the existing network without adjusting site and cable setting. It can also reduce the number of trunk sites to implement beyond-100G deployment on the existing network.

    Automated OXC technology enables fast service scheduling and reduces OAM pressure

    Optical backplane technology can avoid complicated physical fiber connections in the ROADM and implement automatic OXC connection in different directions, substantially reducing the workload of OAM personnel, shortening early-stage commissioning time and facilitating subsequent maintenance.
    Optical label technology performs real-time tracing of optical wavelength information. Together with NM view and SDN functions, it can implement end-to-end service maintenance and prevent the risk of wavelength conflicts in a complicated optical network.

    Encrypted transmission technology guarantees service security

    Accessed services can be encrypted to meet customers' requirements for reliability and privacy. The service encryption does not affect service rate, transparent service clock transmission or service OTN monitoring.

    Integrated management and control platform provides intelligent services during the whole life cycle and improves work efficiency

    Based on SDN network architecture, the integrated management and control platform helps operators perform prior service planning, early-stage service provisioning, mid-stage maintenance and adjustment and late-stage evaluation and optimization, greatly improving work efficiency.

    Eco-friendly and energy-saving equipment cuts OPEX

    ZTE launches the industry's first large-scale OTN cross-connect device supporting heat dissipation by cold and heat isolation. It is applicable to IDC equipment rooms and can improve the heat dissipation efficiency by 50%. The substantial reduction of power consumption relieves the pressure on electric systems in the equipment room and cuts customer OPEX.
