ZTE's PowerEM AMI system is based on a bi-directional communication architecture between smart meters and the backend system, enabling power companies to retrieve the metering information in real time and send commands remotely to the meter. It consists of a master station, smart meters, data concentrators and communication modules. The PowerEM AMI solution has been deployed to more than 26 power supply companies in 20 countries, with a total shipment of more than 3,000,000 smart meters.
