ZTE’s fully end-to-end VoLTE technology delivers faster connection time and high-quality voice and video calls

24 October 2014, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, is pleased to support CSL Mobile Limited in the commercial launch of VoLTE (voice over LTE) services in Hong Kong, delivering consumers a superior user experience in voice and video calls.

CSL users are able to access VoLTE services with any compatible devices. Almost 100,000 users are using the VoLTE service since it was launched by CSL in late August.

ZTE’s VoLTE solution, a fully end-to-end 4G LTE technology, uses high-speed data packet switching in real time to achieve large reduction in call connection times. Based on test results, the connection time for a call between two VoLTE users is typically about one second, while a call from a VoLTE user to a non-4G user can be connected in four seconds, compared to seven seconds for 3G calls. Not only voice quality is improved, but video call resolution can now reach 640x480pixels and voice and video calls can be switched with just one key.

Mr. Liu Jianhua, head of ZTE’s core network product lines said, “As 4G services develop, the key arbiter of network quality is user experience. With ZTE’s rich experience in helping operators with LTE deployments round the world, we are committed to providing the latest and coolest 4G voice services to Hong Kong.”

As one of the world’s leading end-to-end IMS network providers, ZTE’s IMS solutions are deployed in 160 commercial and trial networks globally, including China, Germany, Austria, Italy, Poland, Turkey, Slovenia, Namibia, Peru, and the United States.
