ZTE also named China’s “Most Innovatively Competitive Brand”

BOSTON, September 18, 2014 – ZTE, a top global handset manufacturer, today announced it has been recognized as one of “China’s Top 10 Competitive Brands” by the International Data Group (IDG), the world's leading technology media, events and research company. IDG also named ZTE The Most Innovatively Competitive Brand of the top 10, recognizing the company’s rapid worldwide growth and commitment to innovation and R&D, at the 2014 FutureM Forum.

“ZTE understands that the value of its brand lies in marketing not just to today’s consumers, but also those of the future,” said Jennifer Xu, VP, IDG Asia. “That’s what makes it one of the global leaders in the age of the mobile internet.”

“We’re honored to have our brand recognized by IDG,” said Lixin Cheng, chairman and CEO of ZTE USA and a keynote speaker at the forum, “In the past year, we’ve focused on building a strong consumer brand, and this award is an great acknowledgement of those efforts.”

ZTE attributes its recognition to its concentration on bringing more value to users through the “Smart 2.0” era by producing devices that are seamlessly integrated with personalized applications and services, allowing users to take advantage of faster mobile connections and have better experiences. As part of this era, ZTE has continually raised its global brand awareness by focusing on flagship products, implementing comprehensive sports and digital marketing programs, and localizing and customizing its marketing and product strategies to each region in which it operates.

Lixin Cheng discussed some of these points during a keynote on “Global Branding Strategy in an ‘Always On’ World.” The focus of this year’s competition – the fifth in as many years – is “Future Brand Marketing – to Win in the Mobile Internet Age.” More than 3000 guests and 100 media attended this year’s forum.
