17 December 2010, Shenzhen – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, was named Broadband Network Vendor of the Year in Telecom Asia Readers' Choice Awards 2010.

ZTE was recognized on December 9 for its continued innovation in technology and rapid market share growth in the field of broadband products. This is the second time ZTE has been recognized as Vendor of the Year after receiving the IPTV Vendor of the Year award last year.

"ZTE's broadband products have achieved substantial growth in 2010. They have had a remarkable performance not just in the China market, but also in the Asian, European and American markets," Telecom Asia noted. According to telecoms industry analyst Ovum's 'Market Share - FTTx, DSL, and CMTS ports 2010 Q2' report, in 2Q10, ZTE's GPON revenues (OLT ports and ONT/ONU combined) grew the fastest year on year among the top 10 GPON vendors in the industry. The report also ranked ZTE second in FTTx (OLT port) shipments on a rolling four quarter basis (3Q09 to 2Q10).

"The award is recognition of ZTE's efforts and achievements in the broadband field," said Mr Qian Qiang, Vice President of ZTE Wireline & Service Product International Operation. "Through continual technology innovation, ZTE has become the leader of the industry. We have put the world's first 10G EPON networks in commercial use, were the first to introduce VDSL2 Vectoring system and also one of the early pioneers to deploy GPON-based mobile backhaul networks. We also achieved a breakthrough recently in North America for DPoE (Docsis Protocol over EPON) research."

ZTE is currently working with China, Malaysia and Indonesia to help create the Asia Pacific FTTx Business Model to meet their requirements. ZTE also launched a European FTTx Business Model which has been developed to give operators the right balance of products and solutions for the requirements of the European optical network markets.

Some of ZTE's recent achievements include:

· Securing the PON equipment contract worth hundreds of millions of RMB in China Telecom's "City Optical Network" project, with a 40% share in the EPON market.

· Becoming the biggest supplier for the MSAN network in the Malaysian government's broadband network project HSBB in cooperation with Telekom Malaysia.

· Working together with Telekom Indonesia to build Indonesia's nationwide mobile backhaul project based on PON technology.

· Tiscali and ZTE entered into a strategic partnership agreement with the aim of fostering the development of ultra-wide broadband in Italy, starting with the deployment of an FTTH network in Sardinia.

In recent years, ZTE's broadband access products have been frequently honored at famous international forums. In 2007 and 2010, ZTE's fixed broadband network product won the InfoVision Award of the International Engineering Consortium, first for its xPON+VDSL2 combined technical solution in 2007 and subsequently for the ZXA10 C300 next generation optical access platform in 2010. In 2008, ZTE's DSL 9806H product won the "Best Green Innovation Award" at the SOFNET forum in London.
