Provides a Unified Solution for both Mobile Backhaul and Fixed Network

11 February 2009, Shenzhen – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, is demonstrating its latest carrier-grade all-IP multi-service bearer solution at the MPLS & Ethernet World Congress 2009, a renowned industry event focusing on MPLS and carrier Ethernet infrastructure held in Paris, France from February 10-13, 2009.

The increasing number of IP network transmission projects and growing network traffic from business services and mobile backhaul are the main driving forces for telecom equipment and service providers to continue increasing their investments in developing optical network equipment, including IP-based bearer platform, according to Infonetics Research. The current intense global telecom market competition, coupled with the sudden surge of mobile broadband users worldwide prompted telecom operators to seek ways how to strategically transform and enhance their network services in order to meet rapidly changing market needs. To achieve this, they need to introduce new intelligent and value-add services to sustain growth and stay competitive in the industry, which in turn, will need a robust telecom equipment to deploy a reliable IP-based network.

ZTE’s All-IP multi-service bearer integrated solution is designed to address the critical needs of carriers and telecom operators by providing high network bandwidth, more service access, and higher bearing efficiency. It facilitates flexible service deployment and resource allocation to ensure high quality SLA (Service Level Agreement) and help operators lower their TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). By leveraging on its unified carrier-grade software platform, it also offers customized solutions for different network services and scenarios.

Based on ZTE’s innovative Ethernet technology, the new all-IP multi-service bearer solution is integrated with advanced IP/MPLS and T-MPLS(MPLS-TP)OAM (Operations, Administration, and Maintenance), as well as network protection technology. It optimizes Ethernet services, and at the same time maintains its TDM/ATM compatibility.

“ZTE’s integrated bearer network solution delivers the best All-IP multi-service bearer platform in the industry, addressing various network construction requirements for mainstream fixed-line and mobile operators in key markets,” said Mr. Fan Chengfa, Chief Engineer of ZTE Bearer Network Product Line. “Our carrier-grade All-IP bearer solution has the capability to adapt to the latest IP development trends, a unified platform that delivers mainstream technologies, product optimization to lower TCO and reduce potential harm to the environment, and fulfilling bearer requirements for future network upgrade.

Traditional TDM/SDH based network often causes high operating costs and low revenue to telecom operators, making TCO a critical concern to network operators. ZTE’s carrier-grade All-IP bearer integrated solution is designed to tackle all network operating challenges by increasing network bearing efficiency, enhancing network flexibility and reducing management complexity. This helps telecom operators sustain network growth, hence achieving their ultimate goal of boosting profitability.

ZTE started its R&D on IP based core network in 1999 and is among one of the earliest vendors in the industry to provide the IP-based bearer solution.  ZTE has introduced All-IP architecture based next-generation universal platform, as well as a series of 60 core network products based on this platform, which have been extensively commercially deployed in more than 100 countries and regions worldwide.
