Customized network solution meets growing demand in Malaysia

26 June 2008, Hong Kong – ZTE Corporation ("ZTE"), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, continues to register remarkable growth rate for its bearer network products according to the announcement the company made at the recent "ZTE Bearer Network Workshop Malaysia 2008" held in Malaysia. 

ZTE bearer network products include IP network products and optical transmission solutions.  Last year, its IP network products recorded over 100% growth, with bulk of the sales coming from overseas market.  At the same time, the optical transmission business also registered sterling record as sales grew by 71% compared with 2006, topping the industry by exceeding the overall market's 24% growth.
 
According to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) - Telecommunication Standardization Sector, Malaysia is one of the fastest-growing telecom markets in the region, closely following China. To effectively penetrate Malaysia, ZTE partnered with leading key operators in the country in introducing its innovative products to the local market. ZTE's aggressive efforts in developing and penetrating international markets, including Malaysia, contributed to the tremendous sales growth of its bearer network products. 

At the recently concluded "ZTE Bearer Network Workshop Malaysia 2008", around 100 well-known experts representing various local telecom operators including TM, Celcom, TIME, U Mobile, Maxis and DiGi gathered to discuss network evolution trends and changes in service demand. The operators also recognized ZTE bearer network and service solutions as among the most reliable in the industry.  

"The evolution of global telecom network drives huge demand for network transformation in communication markets with rapid economic growth, such as Malaysia," said Matt Walker, senior analyst from Ovum. "To cater to the needs of such huge network transformation, vendors including ZTE are now delivering competitive solutions which cover both optical network and all-IP multi-service bearing solutions, aiming to expand their market presence."

Meanwhile, ZTE further consolidated its leading position as a global player in both ADM and LH Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) markets, according to a recent report released by Ovum. The company's optical networking products' sales grew by 120% in 2007 compared with that of 2006, the report revealed.
