Indonesia - home to the world´s fourth largest population at over 230 million people - is to receive one of the world´s most advanced access network system in a contract with ZTE Corporation, China´s largest telecommunications equipment provider.

Under the contract, ZTE will provide a ZXA10 system to help Indonesia´s Telkom build the NGN-DLC (Digital Loop Carrier) network in Jakarta and neighbouring areas. The finished network will offer users broadband and narrowband integrated services such as POTS, ISDN, ADSL, SHDSL and HDSL, thus improving the country´s access service capability.

"This is a prestige contract in world terms and will allow ZTE to use its technology to meet the needs of one of the biggest and most demanding markets on the planet," said Xu Ming, Product General Manager, Network Division, ZTE.

"In today´s telecoms market, operators are building more multi-service networks to satisfy their customers´ surging demands for broadband access.  The operators´ major concern is how to build a network with multiple services without adding too much infrastructure cost.  ZTE´s ZXA10 system offers a complete service on a single network and is therefore a perfect solution to carriers´ needs."

This is the latest in a series of large contract wins for the Chinese telecoms manufacturer and provides more evidence of ZTE´s continued growth in Asia and beyond.  As a major network solution provider, ZTE has exported its access products to countries around the world including Egypt, Pakistan and Thailand.

ZTE Corporation is China´s largest listed telecommunications equipment provider specializing in offering customized network solutions for telecom carriers worldwide. The company develops and manufactures telecommunications equipment for fixed, mobile, data and optical networks, intelligent networks and next generation networks as well as mobile phones.
