11 November 2016, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced the launch of ZEGO, its next-generation green data centre to decrease the total cost of ownership (TCO) and improve internet data centre (IDC) efficiency for global customers.

Launched as part of Datacenter Dynamics’ Hong Kong Datacenter Week 2016 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, ZEGO is an IDC infrastructure system that is designed, assembled, integrated, and tested in advance. Applicable to many scenarios, it can be delivered to a data centre site as standard plug-and-play modules, and the power supply system and cooling system can also be installed as modules, greatly reducing costs. Compared with traditional IDC power supplies and cooling systems, ZEGO’s standardised, prefabricated and integrated IDC power supply and cooling modules reduce deployment time by 60 percent, as well as 13 percent of preliminary costs.

Improper planning can cause extra power consumption. For example, power supply and cooling systems may operate under the maximum load if the IT load is overestimated or, if the IT devices are deployed in phases, operates on a larger scale than necessary in a phase.  In such cases, the IT devices may need to be cooled by extra devices because the cooling system is not designed properly. With a modular design, customers can minimize these costs and release cash flow by eliminating unnecessary expenses resulting from a large-scale design in the infrastructure. ZEGO’s expansive design therefore allows the IDC to operate more efficiently and with lower usage costs.

ZTE entered the IDC industry in 2012, providing modular IDC products, including the MDC8200,MDC8300 andFlexDC6100 as the core indoor IDC solutions, as well as container solutions such as CDC6220 and CDC6240. Since then, ZTE’s data centre solutions have been well received by clients, with services provided for more than 200 customers worldwide so far.
