23 September 2016, Bangkok – ZTE, one of the world’s leading smartphone manufacturers, today officially revealed Thai heartthrob Mario Maurer as the company’s first-ever brand ambassador in Thailand and is set to rock the local smartphone market with the launch of AXON 7 series, its latest award-winning product line. The AXON 7 series will appeal to local entertainment and game enthusiasts with “hand theatre” and other ground breaking features, while Mario’s international stardom will help the company spread its brand across the market more widely, especially among the young consumer segment.
With the launch of the new AXON 7 Series, which includes the AXON 7 and the AXON 7 mini, and the reveal of the company’s first local brand ambassador, ZTE is demonstrating that it takes Thailand seriously and aims to grow the business locally, according to Jeremy Zhao, CEO of Southeast Asia Region, ZTE Mobile Devices.
“We are heavily focusing on Thailand where the demand for smartphones keeps growing. Its geographical location is also ideal for us and will help facilitate the company’s regional distribution,” adds Mr. Zhao.
Meanwhile, Mario Maurer is not only a local heartthrob - the Thai superstar has a fan base across ASEAN. This may help the company as it aims to expand its market share in the region and across Asia Pacific. During the last couple of years Mario has also grown to become a well-known actor in China.

The second season of the Experience Tour will make a stop in Thailand where consumers can demo the AXON 7 and AXON 7 mini and engage with ZTE.
