ZTE Aims Leader in African Telecom Market

ITU Telecom Africa 2004, one of the most paramount international telecommunication exhibitions this year, was held from 4th to 8th May in Cairo. ZTE participated in the exhibition with a theme of "Global Solutions, Local Services".

  ZTE was chosen by ITU as the supplier of Wi-Fi equipment to provide access points that covered the exhibition hall and forum venue for visitors to get Internet access. ZTE also supplied hundreds of PCMCIA cards for mobile users to enjoy Internet services.

  As the largest exhibitor at this exhibition, ZTE presented a vast string of its customized solutions and products such as CDMA2000 1x, WCDMA, Next-Generation Network, Optical Transmission Network and handsets. Yoshio Utsumi, Secretary-General of ITU, and a lot of visitors showed great interests in ZTE´s solutions and technologies.

 

  Africa´s telecom market has continued growing steadily in recent years, and it is now a broad market with great potentialities.

  Up to now, ZTE has set up over 100 sales and maintenance offices worldwide. Those include the offices in South Africa, Zambia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Algeria, Nigeria, Tanzania and other countries in Africa.

  ZTE is coming to Africa with a mission to become a leading provider of telecommunication equipment to the continent.
