ZTE constructs the first communications institute in Equatorial Guinea

4 August 2015, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, has completed the construction of Equatorial Guinea's first communications training institute in Oyala. The institute, which will be run with ZTE's assistance, sees the Equatorial Guinean government usher in the new era of Smart Education, promoting the development of ICT-based education.


The excellent teaching facilities and the network-wide communications laboratory built by ZTE will provide a comprehensive environment for students to practice cutting-edge technologies. With more than 20 years of experience in knowledge service training, more than 100 professional senior lecturers in communications technologies, and 15 successful training centres worldwide, ZTE University will provide powerful knowledge service support and extensive operations management experience for the training institute in Equatorial Guinea. After the project is completed, the institute will train communications professionals to work for the Equatorial Guinean government.


The project had an official completion ceremony on August 2, 2015, Before Guinea’s Independence Day, with Minister of Transportation, Technology, Postal Services and Telecommunications, Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Minister of Trade and Business Development, Minister of Labor and Social Security, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform, President of the Constitutional Court and other key officials in attendance.


Mr. Gao Linfeng, ZTE's National Representative in Equatorial Guinea, said, "We are glad to help Equatorial Guinea train more communications professionals through the training institute. By seizing this opportunity, we are committed to the long-term development of Equatorial Guinea, and will work with our partners in the country and Africa to increase investment in ICT education and help more African customers enjoy high-quality education resources."


Currently, ZTE Smart Education solutions have been successfully used in more than 30 countries and regions, such as the Hubei Huanggang Education Valley in China, Egypt's distance education program, distance education in Papua New Guinea, Ethiopia's National Digital Library, Indonesia's IPTV education, distance education in Mozambique, and Equatorial Guinea's training institute, with the aim to make education available to everyone.
