ZTE’s 4G LTE solutions and data center technology recognized in the Wireless Network Infrastructure Innovation Awards and Best Business Model Awards categories

15 May 2014, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, announced the company won three top prizes at the GTB Innovation Awards, the annual showcase of the telecommunications industry’s best technologies   run by Global Telecoms Business (GTB).

ZTE, in collaboration with China Mobile’s branch in Fujian province, received an award in the Wireless Network Infrastructure Innovation Awards category for a TD-LTE deployment based on ZTE’s Cloud Radio solution. ZTE scored another win in the Wireless Network Infrastructure Innovation Awards category for a 4G LTE deployment for China Telecom’s branch in Sichuan province based on ZTE’s LTE Enhanced Network Coverage Business Product solution.

ZTE, together with China Unicom’s Shenzhen branch, also won in the Best Business Model Awards category for a data center project for Tencent.

The GTB Innovation Awards is one of the most prestigious in the global telecommunications industry, recognizing the best technologies and most innovative solutions by vendors and operators across the world. The awards ceremony was held at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in London yesterday.

The multi-antenna enhanced LTE coverage solution deployed by ZTE and China Mobile at the TD-LTE network of Huaqiao University in Fujian uses ZTE’s Cloud Radio technology to improve performance at the network edge, effectively utilizing idle transmission resources.

The LTE Enhanced Network Coverage Business Product solution deployed by ZTE and China Telecom in the 4G LTE network in Sichuan province uses multiple antennas with the smallest volume in the industry, effectively enhancing the transmission and coverage effect with 4 antennas or 8 antennas and overcoming limitations caused by insufficient space. ZTE is one of the most important strategic partners for China Telecom in 4G LTE project of China Telecom.

Tencent’s Pingshan Data Center in Shenzhen was completed in only four months, utilizing a micro-module approach to reduce construction time. ZTE was the integrator of the data center project, which was customized by China Unicom for Tencent. The data center is Tencent’s first large-scale pure modularized data center, supporting Tencent services such as WeChat and online games.
