20 December 2013, Shenzhen, ChinaZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, has been awarded ‘Supplier of the Year 2013’ by network operator E-Plus - a subsidiary of the Netherlands-based KPN Group.

The award, which was presented to ZTE during the first ‘KPN Group Supplier Days’, is in recognition of ZTE’s outstanding achievements in developing the E-Plus mobile network in Germany. KPN group invited its top 100 suppliers to attend the event which was held at the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum in mid-December.

Since 2009 ZTE has been a strategic partner of the E-Plus Group and has supported E-Plus in the upgrade of its UMTS network, the modernisation of the core network and the deployment of LTE. In the spring of 2013, E-Plus Group and ZTE signed an agreement which will see ZTE take over managed services for the E-Plus network. This will come into effect in January 2014.

The ‘Supplier of the Year’ award recognises ZTE’s capability in providing the best services and products, and is testament to the good cooperation between the two companies. In the future, E-Plus will benefit even more from the synergy that ZTE brings through the delivery of network technology, as well as the construction and operation of the E-Plus network from a single source.

“Since the start of our cooperation, ZTE has always supported us with the latest network technology and dedicated itself to realising our dynamic network expansion programme in Germany,” said André Berninger, Director Procurement of E-Plus Group.

“We are very pleased to receive this award,” said Li Jun, General Manager of ZTE in Germany and the Netherlands. “We continue to commit ourselves to support E-Plus in achieving its network expansion and quality targets in Germany. The cooperation with E-Plus is one of the most successful reference stories for ZTE in Europe and contributes significantly to our continued growth in Europe.”
