25 March 2013, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, today announced the launch of a new mobile healthcare cloud solution at the e-Gov Africa 2013 Forum in Kampala,Uganda.

The solution integrates a medical cloud platform, the Internet of Things, sensor technology, diversified medical devices, 3G mobile communications and other advanced technologies. It also enhances medical services efficiency. The ZTE mobile healthcare solution is designed to provide shared professional mobile medical services anytime, anywhere. It enables customers to use medical terminals to collect blood pressure, test blood sugar, blood oxygen, ECG, heart rate, body temperature and other physiological indicators. The solution then sends the collected physiological indicators to the medical cloud platform through a wired or mobile communications network.

The mobile medical solution is intended for community hospitals and individual users, and is especially suitable for community hospitals and rural health care sites. It is ideal for serving the elderly, the chronically ill and other patient groups. The solution can either be used in community hospitals for primary care, or outside the hospital for long-term monitoring and care. It has the capability to detect, diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases. The medical cloud platform can be used to create dynamic electronic medical records for patients. Its audio and video communication functions and medical cloud platform make it possible for patients in remote areas to get diagnostics from medical experts in large hospitals, improving overall medical services.

"This mobile healthcare solution has bridged the digital divide,” said ZTE MEA Government and Enterprise Business CTO Wang Yiwen. “We hope it will help African and global health sectors provide better medical services to remote areas and improve public healthcare."

ZTE’s global government and enterprise businesses saw sales revenue grow by 70 percent in the first half of 2012. The company’s solutions cover several industries, and have been deployed across the world.
