16 June 2011, Shenzhen – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, today announced the launch of the industry’s first CDMA/LTE dual-mode distributed NodeB system with four transmitters and four receivers (4T4R).

ZTE’S industry-leading Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology supports two 2x2 or 4x4 MIMO configurations, allowing an increased number of simultaneous data streams, maintenance of coverage over greater distances and faster downloading of data. The MIMO feature helps carriers significantly enhance cell coverage and capacity by improving spectral efficiency, accelerating network deployment and decreasing network construction costs.

This distributed NodeB system is based on ZTE’s large-scale commercial Soft Defined Radio (SDR) platform to support CDMA2000 1X, EV-DO and LTE. To date, ZTE has become the first vendor to achieve seamless and smooth CDMA/LTE integration around the globe.

Ms. Li Jian, general manager of ZTE’s CDMA and LTE products, said “ZTE has continuously led the industry towards the evolution from CDMA to LTE. ZTE has built an open CDMA/LTE dual-mode laboratory in Dallas, Texas, and deployed CDMA/LTE dual-mode trial networks in many markets — including some in the United States. ZTE is helping CDMA operators evolve to LTE by utilizing the most cutting-edge Uni-RAN platform available.”

As an innovator of both the CDMA and LTE technologies, ZTE has actively joined hands with leading global carriers, having rolled out 18 LTE commercial networks and 70 LTE trials throughout the world. ZTE has been ranked first in a number of CDMA product shipments for five consecutive years. As of the first quarter of 2011, ZTE has shipped over 310,000 CDMA NodeBs, topping the global CDMA market with a 32.5 per cent market share.
