Shenzhen, China - June 30, 2010 ZTE Corporation (“ZTE” - H share stock code: 00763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ) today announced that it has increased its market share in China’s CDMA market to a robust 43.54% in the first half of 2010, reinforcing its lead as the top vendor again. ZTE also has an accumulated market share of 43.2% of China’s total CDMA equipment market, putting it firmly ahead of its competition in the CDMA industry. The company attributed the achievements partly to the steady increase in shipments made globally.

“For four consecutive years, ZTE has been firmly at the top of the global CDMA market in terms of base station shipments from 2006 to 2009. The development of the CDMA market is of great importance to ZTE, which is why we are one of the few vendors in the world who continue to make large-scale investments into CDMA technology,” said Li Jian, ZTE’s General Manager of CDMA & LTE products.

Recently, ZTE signed an exclusive supply contract with Smart Telecom, the second largest CDMA operator in Indonesia, to deploy a network supporting 25 million lines. ZTE also won a CDMA network contract to build over 1,000 base stations in Canada, which signifies a major breakthrough in the North America market.

“In China this year, ZTE has undertaken the migration of legacy CDMA systems from other manufacturers for 12 of the 14 prefecture-level cities. The entire process was seamlessly carried out, and we received positive feedback from users,” added Li. “Network performance was greatly improved after the migration and ZTE’s outstanding project management, execution and delivery won full recognition from China Telecom.”

In April 2010, ZTE was the first to complete the EV-DO Rev.B outfield commercial test in Chengdu. Using AC2790 and AC600, ZTE’s EV-DO Rev.B data cards, the test results demonstrated that ZTE’s CDMA EV-DO Rev.B system was ready for commercial deployment.

ZTE also launched the world’s first CDMA/LTE dual mode Remote Radio Units (RRU) in March 2010. ZTE’s Uni-RAN solution is easy to upgrade to next-generation networks and allows for the fastest commercial deployment of LTE technology.

As a leading innovator in CDMA technologies, ZTE was the only winner of Frost & Sullivan’s World’s Best CDMA Equipment Vendor award in 2009. It was also the first Chinese enterprise to receive the highest 3G CDMA Industry Achievement award from the CDMA Development Group (CDG) in 2008 for global CDMA technological innovation and development.

ZTE’s CDMA products have been in large-scale commercial deployments by over 120 operators in more than 70 countries, with an accumulated wireless capacity of 2.5 billion lines. ZTE has also collaborated with operators worldwide to deploy five commercial LTE networks and over 40 experimental networks across Europe, North America, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
