Ottawa, Canada – June 25, 2010 - Public Mobile and the Export-Import Bank of China today signed a loan memorial at the 4th Canada China Business Forum. Under the terms of the loan, the funds will be used for the construction of Public Mobile’s CDMA network with equipment from ZTE. Present at today’s loan memorial signing in Ottawa were China’s Commerce Minister and National Development and Reform Commission Director as well as Canada’s International Trade Minister.

ZTE has partnered with Public Mobile to design, build and operate an end-to-end CDMA network which includes wireless, core network, service platforms and IP architecture. ZTE will also deploy over 1,000 base stations for the network. A commercial deployment commenced in Toronto on May 26 2010 and will be followed by a commercial deployment in Montreal at the end of June.

“This is a significant deal for both Public Mobile and ZTE,” said Alek Krstajic, CEO of Public Mobile. “We chose to work with ZTE because of their expertise in technology and commitment to financing. ZTE provides the world’s top mobile operators with high-quality and high-capacity network performance,” added Krstajic.

“Our work with Public Mobile and their CDMA network is just one example of ZTE’s focus on continuing to increase our resources in the North American market,” said Cheng Lixin, president and CEO, ZTE USA. “We are improving our localization capabilities and delivering customized solutions that leverage our innovation in green technology and provide a lower total cost of ownership based on an operator’s network construction and operation needs.”

ZTE is one of the leading CDMA vendors in the world. The contract awarded by Public Mobile builds upon ZTE’s success in the North American CDMA market following its partnerships with some of the region’s leading operators including MetroPCS, Aircell and Smart PCS.
