25 September, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, today announced that it has unveiled its new generation, easy maintenance Ethernet Switch ZXR10 3900E and 5900E series. The multi-service switches can be deployed in the service edge layer of metro networks or the edge layer of enterprise networks, providing customers with easy-maintenance, efficient and cost-effective aggregation access solutions.

With the boom of IP services, the ZXR10 3900E and 5900E series switches focus on an integrated platform to implement data, voice, video and mobile services. Based on a highly reliable software platform and ZTE designed ASIC, the 3900E and 5900E series contribute excellent switching capacity and performance, convenient operating, easy maintenance and other new features for next generation networks.

“The ZTE data product R&D Team designed the ZxR10 series according to the growing requirements from European and new markets,” said Mr. Zhao Qiang, Deputy General Manager of ZTE Bearer Networks. “We listen to the industry and work to provide the latest technology advances to meet growing market needs.”

The “E” in ZXR10 stands for EASY, including:

· EasySpace: smaller size (220mm in depth) and front cabling (i.e., a standard 19-inch, 600mm in depth rack is capable of containing 50 pieces of ZXR10 5928E, 1,200 GE and 200 XGE ports)

· EasyPower: the double pluggable power module can meet the switch carrier-level power redundancy requirements to low power consumption and offer a greener solution for operator networks

· EasyUpdate: the operator’s hardware platform can be upgraded smoothly to future-poof and further protect the operator’s investment.

As a newest addition to ZTE’s metro network switches portfolio, the ZXR10 3900E and 5900E inherit the merits of traditional switch design, including excellent wire-speed forwarding, protocol support, route capability and perfect CPU protection. At the same time, the ZXR10 series offers new features including OAM ASIC (recently developed by ZTE IC design center). The ZXR10 3900E and 5900E can monitor 8K links per 3.3 ms to provide 50ms carrier-class Ethernet and MPLS switchover. With the help of ZTE’s powerful NetNuman network management platform, the Easy-Maintenance switches can maximally reduce operating costs.

At the World Congress, many European operators expressed interests in the M-button, which enables operators to implement fast equipment maintenance and convenient equipment operating status monitoring, including current CPU utilization rate, memory occupancyrate, uplink throughput, CRC alarm per port and link status to NMS.

“ZXR10 3900E and 5900E easy maintenance switch provides operator solutions for Metro Ethernet, Mobile IP RAN access, and FTTx access,” continued Mr. Zhao. “They can maximally reduce operator’s OPEX and CAPEX, and can help build an easy maintenance, green network.”

ZXR10 3900E and 5900E switches are not only for current requirements, but also meet the demands of future network evolution .including Metro Ethernet’s future LTE adoption.
