Company Helps Bring Subscribers Unparalleled Experience to Access High-Speed Wireless Broadband Services

26 August 2009, Shenzhen, China– ZTE Corporation (“ZTE” - H share stock code: 00763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, today announced that it has   collaborated with Icon Private Equity to build a 3.5 GHz WiMAX network for Icon PE’s portfolio company, Ukraine High Technologies (UHT) in Ukraine. Upon the network completion by the 4th quarter 2009, the WiMAX system will bring UHT subscribers unparalleled experience to access high-speed wireless broadband services.

Under this phase one exclusive contract agreement with UHT, ZTE is providing technical expertise and solutions to help construct a WiMAX network that covers Ukraine’s capital city Kiev and the surrounding areas. At the same time, ZTE will also supply a wide range of advanced WiMAX solutions including more than 250 WiMAX base stations, 6,000 WiMAX terminal products and core network equipment to support the network.

UHT’s entire WiMAX network construction will consist of three phases. Phase one, now under development by ZTE, has attained exceptional progress. With its efficient project management and technology know-how, ZTE has completed the core network equipment infrastructure as well as some of the base stations. With the aim to develop a nationwide WiMAX network in Ukraine, UHT will further expand the network’s coverage from the Kiev City to other districts of the country, building the largest Ukraine’s WiMAX network.
