Equipment Provides Integrated Features, 40G Scalable Platform and Energy Savings to Lower Operators’ TCO

16 June 2009, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, in line with its corporate theme “Talking to the Future,” today announced it has launched its first-generation reconfigurable multi-service router ZXR10 M6000 at CommunicAsia 2009, currently underway in Singapore.

ZTE’s ZXR10 M6000 is a carrier-class multi-service router that can be deployed in large-scale metropolitan area, It provides rich service access and powerful service control abilities to meet operators’ business needs for full service operations including higher bandwidth, richer service access, more flexibility, faster service deployment and lower TCO (total cost of ownership).

As market demand increases and technologies continue to progress, telecom services have gradually becomes more diversified from single models. Fixed network and mobile operators have also gradually converged their services to provide comprehensive applications that integrated with voice, data and images services. As a result, operators have to offer unified bearer networks based on advanced equipment and integrated services carrying capacities to meet various service demands.

To fulfill the ever-changing market demands, this new generation carrier-class equipment integrates the functions of broadband remote access server (BRAS) and service router (SR), and can selectively configure various service models, achieving multi-service access through a unified platform and facilitating operators to develop various services efficiently. With its advanced features, the ZXR10 M6000 can also provide aggregated service solutions such as services router, double services router and BRAS concentrated deployment, smooth evolution of network and reduce network’s TCO.

We’re pleased today to roll-out the ZXR10 M6000 series at CommunicAsia, showcasing its state-of-the-art functionality and green power to the industry,” said Mr. Zhao Qiang, General Manager of Bearer Network, ZTE Corporation. “The launch underlines ZTE’s leadership in the Bearer Network and demonstrates our R&D expertise and dedication. The new product series is based on our technology know-how in high-end router and BRAS areas, combined with numerous successful case studies with leading operators in the past ten years.”

“With the goal to help operators pave the way to the next-generation communication era, ZTE’s ZXR10 M6000 is a reconfigurable, multi-service and carrier-class router. It helps realize a network’s continuity and achieve smooth network evolution, while reducing operators’ TCO,” added Mr. Zhao.

ZTE is one of the pioneers in introducing environmental-friendly telecom solution products in the industry. The debut of its ZXR10 M6000 marks a series of technology breakthroughs, including its “green” function that is highly attractive to telecom operators worldwide. For its new concept router design, the product has attained key performance indicators for its highly modular and advanced switching structure design.

ZXR10 M6000 offers a unique switching network board 2+2 backup functions to support 480Gbps one-way switching network boards with the most capability in the industry, and bring the maximum switching capacity of the whole machine to 3.84T. The product also adopts high-performance network processors and dedicated hardware chips to achieve 40G line speed forwarding per board to support smooth upgrade to 100G in the future. In addition, it also employs various intelligent and energy-saving technologies that enable operators to realize true green operations and maintenance.

ZTE is exhibiting at booth 4H3-1, Hall 4, Singapore Expo.
