21 April 2009, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions today unveiled its 3G strategy to make life ‘easier, freer and trendier’ for consumers by combining Telecom and IT with 3G lifestyle.

ZTE announced its 3G strategy with the launch of its newest 3G terminal products for TD-SCDMA, CDMA and WCDMA divided into nine different terminal categories and 40 product types. The latest IT gadgets include netbooks, monitors, digital photo frames, wireless phones, home gateways, modules, wireless walkie-talkies, and typical mobile phones and data cards which are all part of the comprehensive array of the company’s  3G devices.

“We have been testing 3G devices and applications over the years and today it is being gradually applied in several key aspects of our daily lives. ZTE not only provides the best communication equipment to customers worldwide, but also upholds the idea of enabling consumers to enjoy a 3G lifestyle in an ‘easier, freer and trendier’ manner,” said Mr. He Shiyou, Executive Vice President of ZTE and General Manager of ZTE Handset Division.

ZTE supports the promotion of 3G lifestyle and has devoted its technological resources to enhance the quality of life by introducing attractive 3G applications. The company is committed to innovation and differentiation by providing in-depth customized services to fulfill customer needs. It has competitive pricing, advanced R&D resources, continuous technological innovations, and a comprehensive product portfolio.

Today, 3G has benefited various industry sectors. For example, a reporter covering an event is able to take advantage of 3G network to transfer freshly-taken photographs into 3G digital photo frame, allowing him to beat tight editorial deadlines. Meanwhile, customers who are on the go can even monitor their house pet through the same network.

In March 2008, a CCID Consulting report entitled ‘Review of China’s 3G Mobile Phone Market in 2008’ highlighted ZTE’s handsets and data cards market leadership by garnering 37.8% market share, sufficient enough for ZTE to firmly take the first position in the overall 3G terminal industry in China.

To date, ZTE has applied for and filed over 1,000 patents related to 3G terminals. It has also partnered with top multinational operators globally and provided leading carriers including Vodafone, Telefonica, and Hutchison, with its customized terminals.
