Exhibits Support Company’s ‘Talking to the Future’ Theme

4 February 2009, Shenzhen, China  - ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, in line with its corporate theme ‘Talking to the Future’, is to showcase various next-generation integrated end-to-end LTE solutions at the Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2009, the most influential mobility technology industry event that will be held in Barcelona, Spain from February 16 – 19, 2009.

ZTE will be demonstrating several LTE solutions at the premier telecom show that all represent the company’s philosophy for ‘Green, Integrated and Efficient’ communication technology. Among the solutions that will be exhibited include ZTE’s TDD-LTE and FDD-LTE, full-IP platform-based FMC core network, SAE EPC which is tailored-made for LTE, as well as intelligent terminal products, LTE-TDD wireless game services and SDR-based multi-mode base stations. These products further demonstrate ZTE’s capabilities in providing comprehensive and fully integrated solutions for GSM/CDMA, UMTS/EV-DO and LTE.

ZTE’s SDR platform-based UMTS solution is the first in the industry that fulfills HSPA+ test and application. It allows a downlink rate up to 21.6Mbps and employs comprehensive verification features. The solution enables smooth access for various wireless systems such as UMTS/GSM/LTE, hence integrating multi-frequency bands and multi-system networks. It is designed for the unified management and seamless operations for the current 2G and 3G networks and future LTE networks with an ultimate aim of helping telecom operators and global carriers to lower down network deployment and operating costs. Today, large telecom organizations in major markets such as Hong Kong, India and the Mainland China have widely adopted and deployed the solution.

“The global wireless market faces a situation where several systems co-exist. Today, for telecom operators to achieve business success they must have the capability to implement unified management across different wireless systems, area-based operations and in effectively managing the various stages of LTE evolution,” said Xu Ming, Vice President of ZTE. “Through our unified core network, integrated services platform and reliable IP RAN solution, we help global carriers to meet their operational requirements. To address current global economic challenges, we are committed in joining hands with our global customers to help them achieve significant operational values through our advanced and state-of-the-art solutions. ”

In line with ZTE’s commitment to developing LTE solutions, the company continues to invest on FDD-LTE and TD-LTE R&D initiatives at its major R&D facilities in various locations manned by more than 2,000 experienced engineers that specialize in GSM/CDMA and 3G technology. For TD-LTE alone, ZTE has hired some 900 R&D staff to join the task force.

Meanwhile, the company is investing RMB 6 billion to build a new R&D facility and production base in Xi’an, China, which will primarily be focused on initiating research on post-3G technology developments and creating new LTE solutions for its handset business. This further demonstrates the company’s determination in helping the industry smoothly migrate into the next-generation communications era.

ZTE will be exhibiting at booth 8B127 in Hall 8 and hospitality suite CY13+14 during the event.
