CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev. A to be commercially deployed in European market for the first time

ZTE Corporation, a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, has signed a CDMA network contract with Czech leading trunking solutions provider MobilKom, a.s., to cover the whole of the Czech Republic. This is the first time CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev.A network will be commercially deployed in the Europe.

Under the terms of the agreement, ZTE will commence construction in early 2007 focusing mainly on mobile data and PTT (Push To Talk) services.

"The Czech Republic is facing a rapidly growing demand for access to high-speed internet services.  As always, it is the outlay and legacy system integration issues which delay the roll-out of these services," said Mr. Guo Jun, the president of ZTE Central and East Europe region." ZTE's CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev. A technology is specifically designed to address this. The high integration compact base stations ZTE will adopt for this network will greatly decrease Mobilkom's CAPEX and OPEX and the All-IP network we provide will offer a great platform for the smooth evolution of the operator's system."

ZTE's CDMA products have been deployed by more than 100 telecom operators in over 60 countries providing more than 50 million lines, helping CDMA technology become the most successful telecoms equipment export from China.
