A major order from Uzbek operator PERFECTUM MOBILE has confirmed ZTE´s leadership in the Central Asian wireless CDMA market. The new contract gives China´s leading telecommunications manufacturer an estimated 80% of the region´s market, with systems so far bought by operators in four countries.

Under the terms of the new order ZTE will supply CDMA2000 1X equipment to build a state-of-the-art network that will cover the country´s capital Tashkent and the country´s major economic zones.

ZTE first partnered with PERFECTUM in 2003 to create an initial CDMA2000 1X network to provide voice, data and value added services in Tashkent. This was intended as the first phase of a nation-wide network. The performance of ZTE´s technology, the company´s extensive expertise in planning and deploying wireless networks, and the high levels of customer service delivered in this first phase were instrumental in the award of the follow-on contract.

One of the globally-ranked CDMA equipment vendors, ZTE´s product portfolio encompasses 2G, 2.5G and 3G, and includes CDMA solutions for operation at 450 MHz, 800 MHz, 1.9 GHz and 2.1 GHz. ZTE also delivers advanced value-added systems such as the new generation CDMA-based GoTa professional trunking network, communication encryption systems, GSM1X products, and positioning solutions. These are enabling operators to customize an extended range of  differentiated and integrated services for end users.

ZTE´s international wireless market share is growing very rapidly, and the company´s brand recognition is rocketing. According to as-yet unpublished statistics, the global capacity of ZTE-branded wireless CDMA systems has now reached 15 million lines, a tribute to the quality and versatility of the product family.

PERFECTUM MOBILE is currently the largest CDMA mobile operator in Uzbekistan, and a trend setter for wireless operators throughout the Central Asian region.
