February 10, 2004 - ZTE Corporation makes its second presence at Expo Comm Mexico 2004, the most influential and largest telecommunication exhibition in Mexico. ZTE, the biggest telecom equipment manufacturer and solution provider from China will show its R&D strengths, share its accumulated experience around the world and exchange its understanding of Mexican market with customers.

At Expo Comm Mexico 2004, the Company will display its cutting-edge technologies and customer-oriented solutions in the fields of Softswitch, optical transport, mobile communications, broadband data network, wireless access network, value-added services, switch and access system, with the ultimate objective of delivering new profitable services to customers.

“Global Solutions, Local Services”, ZTE’s slogan for this exhibition unveils its long-term commitment and strategy. Listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange since 1997, ZTE has realized its qualitative change from a regional company into a giant MNC in the telecoms field within 19 years. To date, the Company owns 13 R&D institutes and over 50 overseas branch offices, providing equipment and services to over 40 countries. Also, the globalization strategy, coupled with professional and differentiated solutions and services, makes ZTE achieve such great success at an amazing speed. At the beginning of 2004, ZTE announced its achievement of contracted sales of USD3.46 billion in 2003 with an increase of 50% over 2002. Contracted sales of handsets recorded USD583 million with a year-on-year increase of 66.3%. Contracted sales in overseas markets recorded USD610 million with a year-on-year increase of 100%.

ZTE has been developing business in Latin America for several years. Currently, the Company has 6 local offices in Latin America.

In 2001, ZTE undertook the construction of a transmission project in Ecuador. In 2002, ZTE signed a CDMA contract valued at USD 13.47 million with a known Brazil telecoms operator. In 2002, ZTE also won the recognition of Mexico Telecom market by signing  transmission contracts with the local operators and organizations.
