Recently, ZTE became one of the first Chinese telecom manufacturer members of Wi-Fi Alliance, a well-known international organization specializing insetting WLAN specifications. The membership award indicates ZTE’s strong R&D capability in this field and will definitely boost the product image of ZTE WLAN in international markets. Shortly before that, ZTE’s AP products W100A passed the interoperability test of Intel, a Wi-Fi member. Currently, Wi-Fi Alliance has 191 members, including leading manufacturers in WLAN such as Dell, Intel, Microsoft, Ericsson, IBM, HP, Nokia, Cisco, Simens, TI, and D-Link. With its mature technology, low investment cost and high market demand, Wi-Fi has become a hot technology in today’s world. It can convert terminals such as notebooks or cash registers to part of a network, paving the way for the further development of the Internet. Attracted by the technology’s optimistic future, leading companies such as Intel, Cisco, Microsoft, Motorola and Nokia have all invested heavily in the R&D of Wi-Fi. ZTE, a leading WLAN products provider in China, has been continuously tracking the development trends of the technology and has launched a suite of market-oriented products. The company also actively participates in specification-setting in China. Now, ZTE’s Wi-Fi products family includes W-NIC, AP, AC, AS etc, which can satisfy different market demands from public networks, big companies and home users. Up to July 2003, ZTE’s WLAN products have been adopted in over 30 provinces in China including Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Guangdong, Guangxi, etc, serving major telecom operators, governments and enterprises.
