January 23,2003---- ZTE Corporation recently announced that it has signed contracts with BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) to build India’s national CDMA WLL network. Under the agreements, ZTE will provide BSNL with CDMA WLL products and solutions to construct its national CDMA WLL network that covers nine major provinces of India including Mahrashtra, Karnataka, Kerala etc. This is the first time that China’s CDMA products enter India’s telecom market. The network is scheduled to start operation in June of this year. By then, over 500,000 lines of network users can enjoy voice and data services brought by ZTE’s CDMA2000 1x WLL technology.With its cutting-edge technologies and customized services, ZTE CDMA products have found wide applications in overseas markets such as Pakistan, Brazil and Kazakhstan. The cooperation with BSNL this time once again proves ZTE’s ability to serve a large country like India with its advanced telecom equipments. ZTE made its debut in Indian market in 2001. In July 2002, ZTE won the first contract in India, a turnkey nationwide optical transmission project covering 40 stations across the country.
