Guandong Branch Win Follows ZTE´s Previous Two IPTV Successes with China Telecom

ZTE Corporation (Shenzhen: 000063, Hong Kong: 0763), the fastest growing global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, has landed a third IPTV contract from China Telecom, China´s largest fixed-line telecommunications operator, making ZTE one of the most competitive IPTV vendors in the country.

The deal with the Guandong Branch of the company follows recent exclusive IPTV contract wins from the Shannxi Branch and Jiangsu Branch of the same operator.

China Telecom´s 100,000 subscriber IPTV project in Guangdong province will support 50,000 concurrent streaming users. ZTE, one of the tender winners for the project, will install the IPTV systems in the cities of Foshan and Dongguan, provisioning video services including VoD (Video-on-Demand), broadcasting, Time-Shifted Television (TSTV), PVR (Private Video Recorder) and NVoD (Near Video on Demand)  as well as value-added services such as interactive games, information services, instant communications, online albums, and E-learning.

The IPTV project with China Telecom´s Guangdong Branch is a key part of China Telecom´s IPTV trials in 17 major cities of five provinces. It is only the third tender result formally announced by the company after the Shannxi and Jiangsu contracts, which were exclusively awarded to ZTE by China Telecom.

ZTE´s NGN-based IPTV system provides operators with advanced network planning and service operation. It can help fixed-line operators achieve increased retained profit by providing abundant value-added customer services.
