ZTE Corporation, the fastest growing global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, has been exclusively chosen by China Unicom, the country´s second largest mobile operator to build China´s largest voice access platform (VAP).

The platform, with access capacity up to 1500E1, will function as the basis of voice value-added services provision for China Unicom, and also as a paramount bridge between voice service providers and subscribers. Upon completion, it will enable China Unicom to provision diversified voice value-added services such as voice  service customisation, voice chatting and interactive voice response.

"The VAP platform, based upon ZTE´s 3G unified service platform, can address the major concerns of both start-ups and established operators in the 3G era, including unified access for service providers, unified services management and subscriber management, helping them evolve their networks and discover new revenue-generating opportunities," said ZTE´s Network Division´s Vice General Manager Mr Huang Dabin.

"With our patented MRB (media resource board) technology, the platform can accelerate the storage speed of large-capacity services, which has been a great concern of the industry."

ZTE delivers its value added services through the Anyservice solution which includes a complete series of products covering every type of network - PSTN, GSM, CDMA, 3G and NGN, and divided into product sets including the IN series, messaging series and data series among others.

ZTE´s Anyservice products have been deployed in over 40 countries by 50 operators around the world.
