ZTE Corporation, China´s leading telecommunications manufacturer and supplier of wireless technology, returns to CommunicAsia 2005 in June after a three year absence, during which time it has become a leading global supplier of telecommunications technology.

ZTE´s stand (Hall 6, stand 6J2-07) will reflect its leading position in all mobile technologies and infrastructure equipment.  On display will be the Corporation´s latest wireless achievements, including UMTS and WiMAX technologies, as well as ZTE´s IPTV service, digital office/family solutions and an exciting array of mobile phones.

"CommunicAsia is an increasingly important event in the telecommunications calendar and it gives us an important showcase to demonstrate to customers, old and new, why ZTE has continued to record significant growth and success across many product areas," said Mr. Cui Yi, President of ZTE´s Asia-Pacific Region.

"We are continuing to invest heavily in R&D - about ten per cent of revenues - and this, coupled with the highly qualified staff at our disposal, means that ZTE customers know that our solutions are always moving forward to meet their requirements."

While being a leading supplier across China and Asia, ZTE has made significant steps into the European market following agreements with industry giants France Telecom, Alcatel and Portugal Telecom.  In March, ZTE announced that it is to become a global supplier of ADSL equipment to France Telecom, which boasts 118.6 million customers worldwide.  The agreement with Alcatel, announced at the 3GSM World Congress, will see ZTE´s CDMA radio access portfolio integrated into Alcatel´s CDMA end-to-end solutions.  In January, ZTE signed a research and development Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Portugal Telecom and an agreement with Skylink, Russia´s largest CDMA operator. Recently, ZTE was contracted to build for NMT (Nordisk Mobiltelefon AB). The network will cover the whole of Norway. Phase I of the project is scheduled to be completed by June this year.

ZTE won its first contract in Singapore, one of Asia´s flagship telecoms markets, earlier this year.  The Corporation´s Intelligent Network system will support the IDD Prepaid services for leading local operator, MobileOne Limited. This win was followed by the announcement that ZTE would supply Laos operator, Sky Telecom, with a national CDMA2000 1X EV-DO network to bring Laos into the 3G era.  Also, in India, ZTE agreed a strategic alliance with Atlas Interactive to bring triple-play broadband to the country.
