ZTE Corporation (Shenzhen: 000063, Hong Kong: 0763), China´s largest listed telecommunications manufacturer and leading wireless solutions provider, is to supply WorldTel with a network infrastructure to cover the whole of Bangladesh.  This is just one of three contract wins in the country announced today by ZTE.

Under the agreement with WorldTel, ZTE is to provide a total network infrastructure to include CDMA, PSTN, Power and micro transmission products.  Also announced today, ZTE will supply GEP with a network infrastructure to cover two of Bangladesh´s five divisions, and JTL with 100,000 CDMA fixed wireless terminals.

"We are delighted to be providing world-class telecommunications solutions to the people of Bangladesh," said Mr Cao Chenggang, Chief Representative in Bangldesh  at ZTE.  "ZTE is committed to providing differentiated solutions, dedicated customer service and high quality products to enable operators to increase their revenue and reduce their operating risk."

These three contracts are the latest successes for ZTE in Bangladesh: in June 2004, ZTE signed an agreement with Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board (BTTB) for a fixed network project, under which ZTE is providing 59 cities and 220 towns with its highly successful ZXJ10 switching equipment.  The equipment will enable BTTB to deliver high-quality voice services to its customers across Bangladesh.

ZTE´s commitment to the region was underlined earlier this month with the announcement that the Corporation is to open two R&D and manufacturing facilities: one in neighbouring India that will produce CDMA, GSM, DSL, NGN equipment and handsets; the second in Pakistan.
