Release Time:2022-09-07

7 September 2022, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the mobile internet, together with the Hunan Branch of China Mobile, has helped Mango TV, a Chinese media company, launch the Guangmang 5G Dense Audio and Video Transmission System at the 2022 China New Media Technology Exhibition in Changsha, Hunan province.

The "Guangmang" system, jointly developed by the Hunan Branch of China Mobile and ZTE, is a wireless, high-capacity, and low-latency video production and broadcasting platform based on the portable 5G private network. The portable 5G private network meets on-site 5G signal coverage requirements by 5G CampSite, a kind of portable 5G base station with integrated cloud, network and service capabilities. The cameras on the site are connected with the portable 5G private network through an externally mounted 5G low-latency encoder, and the captured audios & videos are directly forwarded to the local live production system by the edge computing engine in the 5G CampSite.

In the exhibition area, visitors can enjoy the feeling as if they are in real film shooting area. They can closely observe the devices, and visually experience the program production processes, such as camera shooting, encoder processing, 5G CampSite transmission process, and so on. In addition, they can also participate in creative activities, for example, they raise their hands in front of the camera, and then the action will be displayed on the live screen simultaneously.

The basic version of the “Guangmang” system can provide up to 700 Mbps uplink rate with a transmission delay less than 80 ms, meeting the shooting and production requirements of more than 100 cameras. At present, this system has been applied in Mango TV’s shows such as the second season of "Call Me by Fire" and "Moments in Vocal Studio". Compared with other transmission systems, this system features in lower delay, higher image quality, stronger anti-interference capabilities, and wider coverage, and completely frees up traditional cable connections, so that photographers can capture brilliant images more accurately and efficiently.

Moving forward, Mango TV, as a technology-driven and service-oriented interactive media platform, will continue to deepen its cooperation with China Mobile and ZTE, and integrate the technical power of China's intelligent media, to jointly explore new samples of culture and technology fusion, and promote technological innovation to boost media development.
