ZTE and MMU sign MoA to strengthen partnership

26 August 2022, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the mobile internet, has signed an Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Multimedia University(MMU) for the continued partnership between academia and industry at the Melaka campus.

The agreement was signed by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, and Mr. Ge Yuqiao, the Managing Director of ZTE Malaysia. This agreement has strengthened the long-standing relationship between both parties.

 

The Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) has also organized many collaborative events and activities with ZTE like sharing sessions, curriculum embedment programs and internships. ZTE and MMU will jointly organize the ZTE IoT Innovation Challenge in December 2022, which will be open to all university students nationwide to propose IoT solutions for certain existing problems.

 

Also, ZTE has extended the agreement to provide MMU students scholarships until 2026. Moreover, MMU’s smart campus innovation could be promoted by integrating the latest 5G and IoT solutions from ZTE. The university also has deployed 100% solar-powered outdoor campus WiFi within MMU, covering the FET students under the supervision of Prof. Ir. Dr. Lim Heng Siong.

Moving forward, the two parties will develop talent training programs and other projects together to nurture professionals in telecommunications.
