24 April 2017, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced that its cloud management platform solution, Tulip Elastic Cloud System (TECS), has successfully passed the Interop Challenge test at the Global Cloud Computing Open Source Summit and has been awarded the Outstanding Enterprise award by the Open Source Cloud Alliance for Industry (OSCAR). The Summit, hosted by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) and undertaken by OSCAR, is the cloud industry’s most authoritative event.

Interoperability (Interop) is the ability for different systems and organisations to cooperate and work with each other, which is an important product evaluation standard for the OpenStack Foundation. At present, with more and more Chinese companies engaged in OpenStack contributions and related product development, China has become an important part of the OpenStack ecosystem. The Interop Challenge test is the first domestic certification test and as such has a positive effect on the development of the entire OpenStack open source project in the domestic cloud computing industry.

As a core member and key facilitator of the OSCAR OpenStack Interoperability Project Group, ZTE is actively involved in the Interop Challenge test. At this year’s summit, ZTE’s TECS successfully passed the Interop Challenge test and a LAMP application use case was successfully deployed in the ZTE TECS-based private cloud. ZTE was awarded the Outstanding Enterprise award for the Interop Challenge Project by OSCAR and ZTE TECS’ ability to achieve OpenStack interoperability is recognised by the industry.

ZTE will further promote the development of NFV interoperability applications in the OpenStack community. Following the Summit, ZTE will debut at the OpenStack Summit in Boston in May and participate in the global Interop Challenge test hosted by the OpenStack Foundation.
