24 February 2016, Shenzhen, China – ZTE CIO Jane Chen delivered a speech on “Smarter City, Better Life” at MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona on Feb. 22nd. She introduces three innovations made by ZTE in the field of “Smart City”: the Cloud-Network-Map top-level architecture; the shared city big data cloud platform; as well as the innovative business model and city cooperation in a new PPP mode. On that day, the session of “Smart Cities Sustainability” attracted over 200 people.

With the development of the new-generation information technologies such as Internet of Things, Cloud computing, and mobile internet, the concept of “Smart City” is increasingly being addressed, the research and business applications of which in intelligent healthcare, electronic government, and intelligent transportation have become the hot topics in the industry. Jane Chen analyzes the current situation for “Smart City” and the challenges it faces; introduces the practice and innovations ZTE has made in this field; shares the industry chain cooperation and two big successful cases in Yinchuan and Guangxi; foretells its prospect and makes a summary at the last.

Jane Chen says that ZTE has made every steady step from Smart City 1.0 to 3.0. Focusing on big data, it makes its way forward clear from data to Smart City by siloed construction phase, big data centralization based on big data cloud platform, and big data operation of future Smart City 3.0.

It’s worth mentioning that in the construction of Smart City, ZTE works with Yinchuan municipal government to integrate the resources and founded ZTE (Yinchuan) Smart City Industry Co. Ltd. They introduce the brand-new business cooperation model and city informatization operation management, and build an intelligent Smart City operation management system with high standards. Chinese Prime Minister has visited it twice and spoken highly of it. Yinchuan model has become the benchmark of Smart City in China.

ZTE Smart City has entered 40 countries in the world, dominating or getting involved in Smart City construction in more than 140 cities. It has become an important participant and promoter in Smart City construction around the world. In this way it solves the three major challenges of investment, data sharing and operation. Meanwhile, we build up Smart City eco-system together with the global partners, work with each other to share the Smart City construction experience and dream to create a smart world.
