February 5, 2018, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today launches the ZXHN H186, the first CPE device in the industry to support profile 35b bonding.

Taking advantage of existing copper resources, the ZXHN H186 helps operators increase user bandwidth at reduced investment. Lab tests show that the ZXHN H186 can deliver 500 Mbps downstream rates and 100 Mbps upstream rates over a 200-meter telephone line. That means the product can provide high bandwidth to enable home users to simultaneously watch five channels of 4K ultra-high definition video.

The ZXHN H186 supports all VDSL2 profiles, including the latest 35b, to deliver a speed boost. By bundling two pairs of telephone lines, the product further doubles the transmission rates to achieve FTTH-like broadband access speeds. As the latest extension of the VDSL2 standard on copper telephone lines, the profile 35b technology can provide downstream rates three times those of profile 17a by expanding the spectrum to 35 MHz.

In addition, profile 35b and other profiles, such as 17a, can use the vectoring technology in the same bundle of telephone line pairs, thereby bringing the speed of multiple line pairs in actual deployments close to the speed achievable in ideal noiseless conditions. Owing to its clear advantages in cost and construction period, the profile 35b technology has been widely recognized by operators and is undergoing rapid commercialization.

Furthermore, considering the upgrade of home gateways, ZTE designed the ZXHN H186 as a bridge modem with two GE ports at the LAN side. If an existing home gateway is linked to a GE port of the ZXHN H186, its rates can be upgraded to up to 500 Mbps downstream. This mechanism meets the high-bandwidth requirements of users while extending the lifespan of the existing home gateways, greatly saving investments for operators.

By February 2018, ZTE's broadband CPE devices have racked up more than 280 million unit shipments and been deployed by operators in over 100 countries and regions, including the Netherlands, Spain, Greece, Poland, France and China.
