23 November 2017, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, was designated vice chair position  by newly formed IEEE 1934 WG.

On October 26, at the Fog World Congress, OpenFog and IEEE announced the formation of the IEEE Standards Working Group P1934 on Fog Computing and Networking Architecture Framework, based on the OpenFog Reference Architecture. Mr. Jingyi Zhou from ZTE is designated as the vice chair of the P1934 WG.

As one of the major Edge/Fog computing technology enablers, ZTE has been actively committed to the standardization development and implementation of Edge/Fog computing technologies. Besides its active involvement in IEEE 1934 WG, ZTE is also the rapporteur of two important ETSI MEC ISG projects and the board member of OpenFog Consortium. ZTE is also a major participant and contributor to the research on global 5G technologies and standards and obtained three editor seats in key 5G specifications. In addition, ZTE initiated and played a leading role in NOMA, a key technology focusing on the physical layer aspects of 5G NR, and led the research on the NOMA project as the first speaker.

 ZTE will keep working with the industry on the standardization and implementation of 5G and Edge/Fog computing technologies.
