10 November 2016, Hong Kong, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced it has been awarded the Datacentre Dynamics  Internet Data Center and Modular Deployment Awards from Datacentre Dynamics, one of the highest accolades awarded within the data centre industry. The judging panel has rewarded ZTE for the construction of its Tencent West Lab with its great energy-saving and flexibility.  The award highlights ZTE’s strong technical knowledge and extensive experience in the Internet Data Center (IDC) sector.

ZTE entered the IDC industry in 2012, providing modular IDC products, including MDC8200, MDC8300, FlexDC6100 as the core of indoor IDC solutions, and container solutions such as CDC6220 and CDC6240. In a short time, ZTE’s datacentre solution has not only been well received by the industry, it has also provided services for more than 200 customers worldwide.

With the rise of M-ICT and the Internet of Everything, requirements in data storage and transmission are higher. The datacentre is at the core of IoT and therefore it is crucial for datacentres to be as stable and reliable as possible. Having an energy-saving datacentre not only benefits OPEX, but also stimulates the sustainable development of the whole environment. In May 2016, ZTE built Tencent Western Lab, which used solar energy to increase energy-saving and introduced indirect evaporative free cooling technology into business application, for the first time in China. The datacentre was managed through iDCIM, an intelligent infrastructure platform developed by ZTE. These industry-leading technical highlights have contributed to ZTE’s award win.

Mr. Hongxuan Tang, product director of ZTE datacentre said: “Green and energy-saving are at the heart of the Internet Data Denter revolution. Based on the existing micro modular datacentre, ZTE launched the next generation of green datacentres ZEGO, using a number of innovative technologies to improve energy efficiency and build a new generation of modular datacentres, including modularised design of IT and infrastructure, direct/ indirect evaporative free cooling technology, direct main power supply with the combination of energy and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), remote and visible intelligent monitoring technology for machine rooms. Via these technologies, the overall PUE is able to control less than 1.1, saving 30 percent of energy consumption compared to present datacentre solutions. Following this appreciation from the judging panel, ZTE will continue its efforts to make further and greater contributions to the IDC industry.”
