26 September 2016, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced the success of its 5th European Wireless User Group Conference, recently held in Rome in conjunction with Italian local operator, Linkem. At the event, European operators discussed wireless technologies for future network development.

ZTE’s European Wireless User Group Conference is a communication platform for wireless operators and their partners in Europe where participants can share their views on current technology development trends and discuss network construction challenges. ZTE also showcases its products and solutions.

The annual European Wireless User Group Conference is jointly held by ZTE in cooperation with an operator partner. Participants include wireless operators from Europe and America and this year’s conference welcomed more attendants and attracted increasing attention from the industry than ever before.

This year was the first time that the Italian operator, Linkem, hosted the conference. It stressed its network operating strategy, its perspectives on wireless technologies and how to deepen cooperation with ZTE. Mobile telecoms operator (MTO) representatives also participated in the discussion. ZTE’s solutions, such as 5G, Pre5G, wireless network evolution, cloud network and more, drew great interest from operators.

At this year’s conference, ZTE demonstrated its latest series of base stations, including the 4G 4T4R base station, Ultra Broadband RRU, SmallCell, Pico base station and the newest 5G high frequency prototype. The Pre5G Massive multiple input, multiple output (MIMO), awarded at MWC 2016, was demonstrated to show real-time virtual reality (VR) services, showcasing the super high throughput of single carrier Pre5G Massive MIMO.

Early in this year, Linkem declared its cooperation with ZTE with the aim of deploying a 4G wireless broadband network in Rome and thereby providing ultra-high speeds based on long term evolution (LTE-A) technology. After a half year’s construction, it has become the first ultra-broadband wireless network in Rome, also the largest 3.5GHz wireless network in a single city anywhere around the globe. During the conference, ZTE and Linkem invited representatives to experience the 4G wireless broadband network in each hot spot in Rome.
