28 February 2017, MWC, Barcelona – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced that it has released the E-OTN solution, which covers the core ideas of end-to-end, elastic and enhanced. The solution meets the development requirements of big video, wireless, government & enterprise private lines, Data Centre Interconnect (DCI) and other new services, helping operators build ultra-large-capacity, ultra-low-delay, secure and reliable multiservice transport end-to-end OTN and drive the evolution from OTN to all-optical networks.

With the development of big video, 5G and other new services, bandwidth demands have grown rapidly, leading to operators creating a trend for the deployment of large-capacity OTN equipment and building OTN from access/aggregation layers to core networks. Based on this background, ZTE releases the end-to-end E-OTN solution, which supports the express pass in optical layer, the unified transport of Optical Channel Data Unit/Packet/Virtual Container (ODUk/PKT/VC), as well as more elastic network architectures, and can elastically process services in rigid pipelines. Meanwhile, E-OTN product series adopt the advanced cooling structure for energy saving and low power consumption.

The ZTE E-OTN product family consists of ZXONE 9700 series, ZXONE 8000 series and ZXMP M721 series, which integrate intelligent control plane, Optical crossed-Connection (OXC), packet processing and OTN technologies and support for 100G/beyond-100G transport rates, as well as the industry’s largest electrical cross capacity of 64T. The solution also provides Colourless Directionless Contationless Flexgrid (CDCF) and Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) to meet the requirements for transparent transport, flexible dispatching and convergence, in addition to management and monitoring of mass data services.

Cheng Yufei, the general manager of ZTE’s OTN product line, said: “ZTE has made continuous investment and innovation in the OTN field to help operators build a future-oriented OTN. The E-OTN solution satisfies the requirements of new services and is also suited for future developments.”

ZTE’s 100G/beyond-100G technologies are industry leading, with more than three hundred 100G network application cases and over 300,000 KM 100G network fibers in construction. According to the rating of Global Data (formerly Current Analysis), ZTE’s new-generation metro packet optical transport equipment ZXONE 9700 was rated as a “Leader” in metro packet – optical transport class.
