ZTE started global strategy as early as 1995, and it has become the first and the most successful enterprise in China's Hi-Tech industry to practice the "going out" strategy. For decades, the company has been actively expanding overseas markets while keeping a close watch on domestic markets. Now it is one of the few companies in the world with the capability of researching and developing all series of terminal products like 3G, GSM, CDMA and PHS.

ZTE has established strategic partnerships with global top 10 telecom operators, such as Vodafone, Hutchison, France Telecom, British Telecom, Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM) and Sprint Nextel. To date, the company has sold more than 70 million handsets in over 70 countries and regions, including the USA, UK, France, Australia, Italy, Canada and India.

In the domestic market, ZTE has captured nearly 50% market share in the TD-SCDMA network construction project of China Mobile. The company has been selected as the sole vendor to provide indoor signal coverage for all Olympic venues in Beijing, the host city of the 2008 Olympic Games.
