As a key evolution of Massive MIMO, GigaMIMO leverages ultra-massive antenna arrays and deep AI integration to achieve a breakthrough leap in network performance, empowering emerging AI-native services including immersive communications, Internet of Vehicles, and embodied intelligence. The solution comprehensively enhances the capacity and user experience of 5G-A networks while paving the way for the forward-looking evolution toward 6G.

The development of wireless communication has long been defined by pushing the boundaries of performance. Massive MIMO unlocked the value of spatial domain resources and laid a solid foundation for 5G's high performance. As the industry moves toward 6G, the in-depth reshaping of spatial resources has become a major focus worldwide.
To address this trend, ZTE and China Mobile continue to lead technology innovation with the GigaMIMO solution. By expanding the capabilities of ultra-large antenna arrays, GigaMIMO enables explosive network capacity growth and consistent user experience across all scenarios, solidifying a critical cornerstone for the smooth evolution from 5G-A to 6G.
GigaMIMO innovatively integrates two core technologies: Centralized MIMO and Collaborative MIMO, which work in synergy to boost coverage, capacity, and user experience. Centralized MIMO delivers a tenfold capacity increase to support massive connections and ultra-high data rates in wider bandwidths and higher frequency bands. In field trials in Xi'an using a U6G base station prototype and Qualcomm test modules, the single-user data rate exceeded 17 Gbps. Collaborative MIMO focuses on overlapping areas, forming a virtual ultra-large antenna array through intelligent multi-site coordination to significantly improve user experience. Trials on a live 5G network in Hubei show that user experience in overlapping cell areas improved by more than 3 times, while overall system capacity increased by over 25%.
