ZTE establishes collaboration for digital ecosystem development with China Institute of Communications, MASTEL, and Telkom University

Jakarta, Indonesia, 29 January 2024 - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a global leading provider of information and communication technology solutions, achieved a significant milestone with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Masyarakat Telematika Indonesia (MASTEL), China Institute of Communications (CIC), and Telkom University in terms of the digital ecosystems development in Indonesia and China.

 

The MoU signing is part of the "Indonesia-China Cooperation for Digital Ecosystem Development" event held at the office of the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia. The signing ceremony of the MoU took place following a bilateral meeting between the Minister of Communication and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia, Budi Arie Setiadi, and the Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Secretary of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), HE Junke. This ceremony was witnessed by the Minister of Communication and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia, Budi Arie Setiadi, and the Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Secretary of the CAST, HE Junke, symbolizing the commitment of both countries. Both countries are dedicated to enhancing the digital talent and engineers through comprehensive programs encompassing training, research, and career development in both countries.

 

In his address, Sarwoto Atmosutarno, Chairman of MASTEL, said, "ICT is currently developing rapidly, and human resources are one of the key elements in this growth. Therefore, the development of skills and knowledge in human resources becomes crucial. MASTEL, as the ICT Association in Indonesia, continues to strive towards building and enhancing the capabilities of human resources to be able to compete now and in the future, both domestically and internationally by establishing collaborations among institutions to develop human resource capabilities, and MASTEL supports collaboration with other institutions in human resource development."

 

Wu Ouyang, Deputy Secretary-General of China Institute of Communications, said, "This event marks the beginning of cooperation among industrial organizations, Chinese companies and Indonesian universities, creating new momentum and opening up new opportunities for China and Indonesia to strengthen technical exchanges, talent training, and industrial cooperation in the field of information and communications."

 

ZTE and Telkom University also inaugurated the Digital Enterprise Ecosystem (DEE) Laboratory as part of these activities. Located at Telkom University Bandung, this laboratory is expected to support enhancing digital talent and promote collaboration between application developers, companies, and mobile network operators to develop hardware and software ecosystems. This initiative demonstrates ZTE and Telkom University's joint commitment to providing technology development facilities in Indonesia.  

 

Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya, Rector of Telkom University, said, "Since 2008, ZTE and Telkom University have jointly developed this technology, especially in digital connectivity. ZTE DEE LAB donations and grants provide benefits for Telkom University to encourage research and innovation to develop digital company products or applications installed under ZTE's LTE or 5G technology. Apart from that, it also supports our activities such as training and educating students to know how 5G equipment works and how it works. This aims to develop digital talent for Indonesia."

 

Richard Liang, President Director of ZTE Indonesia, said, "In strengthening an inclusive digital ecosystem, collaboration among stakeholders is the key to mutual success. We believe that synergy between the government, associations, industry, and academia will form a strong and sustainable structure, driving inclusive economic growth and positive technological development."
