ZTE increases its number of smartphone models in France to ten

ZTE has announced the availability of its new flagship smartphone, the ZTE Skate, and the ZTE Racer II in France.

ZTE has increased the number of smartphone models sold in France from three in 2010 to ten in 2011, which including six operator-branded and four own-branded devices.

ZTE is aiming to surpass the success of the ZTE Link and the ZTE Blade launched in France in 2010 with these new launches. The ZTE Skate and ZTE Racer II, targeted at the mid and entry-level markets respectively, represent the best value for money in their market segments and demonstrate its commitment to providing an enhanced user experience at a competitive price to appeal to the mass market, the company said.

The ZTE Skate comes with a 4.3 inch multipoint touch screen with an intuitive user interface that enables swift access to applications and smooth internet navigation. It comes with a Qualcomm MSM 7227T 800 Mhz processor and runs on Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread). It is a slimline 11.35mm and weighs just 148g, it boasts a powerful 5 megapixel autofocus camera, Wi-Fi, GPS and an accelerometer.

On the other hand, the ZTE Racer II is one of the most affordable Android smartphones available. With a 2.8 inch multipoint touch screen, it boasts a Broadcom BCM 2157 500 Mhz processor. It also comes with a 2 megapixel Autofocus camera, GPS, an accelerometer, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

ZTE Director of Mobile Handsets in France Emmanuel Rousseau said that 2011 has been an important year for ZTE in France as they moved to target their devices at mid-high end markets and were recognised as the world's fourth largest handset vendor." He added, "The outlook for 2012 is fantastic, with Android Honeycomb tablets and an array of Windows Phones in the pipeline. ZTE has expanded its product range to offer operators worldwide a broad range of devices to meet the growing demands of their consumers."
